I recently photographed the beautiful Wedding of Katie & Josh in Central London. The wedding ceremony was held at the West London Synagogue followed by a wedding reception at the Berners Tavern.

When I arrived at the West London synagogue, the first event to photograph was the traditional groom’s ‘Tisch’ – a special time for Josh and his guests around a table laden with food and drink. It was followed by the main wedding ceremony where my photographs had to capture the atmosphere without me being intrusive. My favourite moment was when Katie removed her veil.

After the main ceremony, I jumped into a taxi and headed for the wedding reception at the picturesque Berners Tavern. I made sure to arrive before Katie and Josh so that I could photograph their grand entrance. I loved the intimacy between Katie and Josh and how chilled-out they were.

Finally, it was time for some splendid dancing. I was completely in my element and thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of the energy and fun unfolding on the dance floor.

The wedding was full of joy and emotion. It was very well suited to my style of documentary photography.  I can’t wait until my next Jewish Wedding.
