Malaysia is an extremely beautiful country and great for travelling around. It is a very multicultural society. Its population is majority Muslim but also includes people of Hindu, Christian and Chinese traditions.

I started my trip in Kuala Lumpur, a city with many different ethnic groups. I managed to do a lot of street photography. I greatly enjoyed walking around and talking to locals and finding out about their stories.

One of my favourite photos from Kuala Lumpur is of a Thai monk. When photographing monks you must always ask for their permission. He was very happy for me to take his photo.

On my second day in KL, a Malay couple recommended a visit to Truman Island. It’s two hours off the East coast and several hours north of Singapore. I followed  their advice and visited the island. I spent just over a week chilling out on a beach and also getting to know the locals.
