10 Best Locations for Shooting in London
It’s often tricky to find a spot that is suitable for a photo shoot. Here are some of my favourite locations for couples or engagement shoots in London.
HAMPSTEAD PERGOLA, NORTH WEST LONDON, UK
The Hampstead Pergola and Hill Gardens is a beautiful Georgian arbour and terrace with amazing views across Hampstead Heath. It was the first time I visited this gem of a place, which can also be used as a wedding venue. It felt like being on a film set for Lord of the Rings. River Thames Sunset by Bermondsey, South East London, UK
The River Thames provides some of the most picturesque locations in London. On this occasion, we descended down to the river bank opposite Tower Bridge just before sunset. It gave us a magic moment.
Battersea Park, South West London, UK
Battersea Park is a large and beautifully designed green space in the London Borough of Wandsworth on the south bank of the River Thames. The park occupies marshland that was reclaimed from the Thames and land formerly used for market gardens. It has some wonderful locations like the Peace Pagoda or the picturesque pond in the middle of the park. Right beside the River Thames, the South Bank is a dynamic area at the heart of London’s cultural scene. It has many iconic landmarks like the Thames Modern or Millennium Bridge that can be used as backdrops for couples or engagement shoots.
HOLLAND PARK, West London, UK
Holland Park in West London is one of my favourite parks in the city, with its very natural and forest like setting. You can allow yourself to get lost here as you look for peacocks and explore the beautiful Rose or Japanese Gardens. Great for intimate photography in a natural environment. RICHMOND PARK, WEST LONDON, UK
Richmond Park is one of West London’s most popular nature retreats. It is easy to get lost in this wide open space with its grasslands and impressive deer herds, just a stone’s throw from central London. There are many romantic and epic locations in this park for both couples or engagement shoots. In May, the Isabella Plantation with its flowering magnolias and Rhododendron is simply spectacular.
